OK, I’m going to get up on my soapbox. I had high hopes for the Star Wars franchise when I heard about Disney buying it a few years ago. I feel that with the exception of Rogue One, the new movies have left me disappointed. One of the main reasons I feel this way is the fact that they have declared most, if not all, of the Expanded Universe material to be non-canon. The X-Wing series and New Jedi Order series were some of the best science fiction novels I have ever read. Now neither one of them counts for anything in the ongoing storyline.
I’ve heard it said that true Star Wars fans are ruining the experience for everyone else because of their complaints. Well, if that’s the case, I stand guilty as charged.
Now, I’m getting down from the soapbox.
