As I said a few blog posts ago, I don’t think I’m going to attempt to submit stories to the Black Library anymore. Instead, I’m going to focus on my own original storyline. With that being said, as of last week, I have rough drafts of the first six chapters of what I hope will be Book One of an ongoing series.
The way I write is I first create a rough draft of the scene, then go back to hone and polish it until it reads in a way I’m satisfied with, then I go on to the next chapter or scene in the book/short story. I keep on progressing like this until I’m finished with the work.
Now I need to go back and do a little bit more world building and create some prison gangs and street toughs. As of this month, I have been in law enforcement for 30 years. I feel that gangs and thugs are something I know a little bit about. I plan on putting my thinking cap on the rest of the afternoon and evening and take concentrate on creating individuals and organizations to fill the need in my story for them.
